About the Artist I have lived in coastal North Carolina all my life and cannot imagine living anywhere else. The inspiration for my paintings is drawn from the scenes I see everyday- the waters and marshes, wildlife - especially birds, the woods, and the flowers in my garden or by the roadside. My attention to detail and the ability to see "the whole picture" as well as the smallest detail are certainly reflections of the training and experiences I've had over the last 25 years in a career of nursing critically ill patients. Though I'm still keeping my hand in that a bit, it seems time now to explore my artistic side a little deeper. I began my interest in art during my high school years, studying under the direction of Laura Davis Piner. My artistic desires took a back seat to life and raising a family. Several years ago, I found myself with a little too much time on my hands, and with the encouragement of an artist friend, decided to take a painting class with local and talented artist Larry Burge. The result is what you see here. I hope you enjoy these pages, and if there's something here that interests you, please contact me. Some of the paintings have been sold, but I'd be glad to do a similar piece on commission for you. Thank you for stopping by to look at my work. Please send me an email to let me know you've been here. All comments are welcomed. | Affiliations I am a member of the Carteret County Arts and Crafts Coalition and the Arts Council Carteret County.
My work is represented by Havelock, NC. | |
